Open University Umag \"Ante Babi\u0107\" is a public institution located in Umag (Croatia), founded by the City of Umag. The institution has over 65 years of experience in adult education.<\/p>\n

Open University Umag \"Ante Babi\u0107\" provides formal educational programmes like elementary school, vocational school programmes, specialized courses and trainings, language courses as well as informal programmes. The University of the Third Age is part of the institution since 2003 providing a great variety of informal programmes for senior citizens.<\/p>\n

Our target groups are adult learners over the age of 14. With the offer of our programs, we respond to the very different needs of individual target groups. We adapt the programmes to their needs, and based on them we determine the goals, contents and choose methods and forms of teaching.
The institution has experience in international cooperation and partnerships and has participated into 5 projects funded by the European Social Fund. It has realized 2 Erasmus+ KA1 projects and 1 KA2 Erasmus+ project - Strategic Partnership for Innovations, particularly focused to the development of digital skills and innovative teaching methods.<\/p>\n

O U\u010cILI\u0160TU<\/h4>\n

Pu\u010dko otvoreno u\u010dili\u0161te \u201eAnte Babi\u0107\u201c Umag osnovano je 1956. godine pod imenom Narodno sveu\u010dili\u0161te \u201eAnte Babi\u0107\u201c. U okviru U\u010dili\u0161ta odvijala se djelatnost obrazovanja odraslih, osnovnog glazbenog obrazovanja, djelatnost knji\u017enice, glazbeno-scenska, galerijsko-izlo\u017ebena i kino prikaziva\u010dka djelatnost te organizacija zna\u010dajnih manifestacija i priredbi na podru\u010dju\u00a0Grada Umaga<\/a>.\u00a0 Promjena zakonske regulative i sna\u017eni razvoj svih navedenih djelatnosti tijekom posljednja dva desetlje\u0107a donijeli su \u010ditav niz strukturno-organizacijskih promjena te se od 01. 01. 2018. godine U\u010dili\u0161te Umag bavi isklju\u010divo djelatno\u0161\u0107u obrazovanja odraslih i cjelo\u017eivotnim u\u010denjem.<\/p>\n

U\u010dili\u0161te Umag odraslim polaznicima danas pru\u017ea izuzetno velike mogu\u0107nosti: zavr\u0161etak osnovne \u0161kole, stjecanje kvalifikacije ili prekvalifikacije na srednjo\u0161kolskim programima, u\u010denje za \"drugu karijeru\" kroz mnogobrojne programe osposobljavanja za uslu\u017ene, informati\u010dke, turisti\u010dko-hotelijerske i poljoprivredne poslove. Poti\u010de osobni razvoj kroz stjecanje jezi\u010dnih kompetencija na verificiranim i specijaliziranim te\u010dajevima stranih jezika te putem javnih predavanja i drugih oblika edukacije, nastoji zadovoljiti potrebe za obrazovanjem lokalnog stanovni\u0161tva.<\/p>\n

Od 2003. godine u okviru tada\u0161njeg Odjela obrazovanja, razvija se projekt U\u010dili\u0161ta za tre\u0107u \u017eivotnu dob, koje stavlja u ravnopravni polo\u017eaj sve generacije grada Umaga, osiguravaju\u0107i pravo na u\u010denje, socijalnu uklju\u010denost i podizanje kvalitete \u017eivota osobama tre\u0107e \u017eivotne dobi. Uz kontinuiranu financijsku potporu Grada Umaga i Istarske \u017eupanije svi programi U\u010dili\u0161ta za tre\u0107u dob su ili potpuno besplatni ili uklju\u010duju simboli\u010dnu participaciju polaznika.<\/p>\n

Od 2011. godine U\u010dili\u0161te Umag korisnik je sredstava Europskog socijalnog fonda te osigurava besplatne \u00a0edukacije gra\u0111ana, sklapa partnerstva s drugim u\u010dili\u0161tima, gospodarskim sektorom, poslodavcima i institucijama iz lokalne zajednice i izvan nje. Zahvaljuju\u0107i sudjelovanju u Erasmus + projektima ja\u010da vlastite kapacitete i pru\u017ea stru\u010dnu podr\u0161ku nastavnicima \u2013 vanjskim suradnicima koji sudjeluju u\u00a0realizaciji obrazovnih programa.<\/p>\n

U\u010dili\u0161te Umag je \u010dlan\u00a0Zajednice ustanova za obrazovanje odraslih Republike Hrvatske<\/a>, od samog osnutka ove strukovne udruge, te je \u010dlan\u00a0Zajednice za razvoj ljudskih potencijala i obrazovanja odraslih HGK<\/a>.<\/p>\n

U\u010dionice U\u010dili\u0161ta su opremljene suvremenom didakti\u010dkom opremom, praktikumima za izvo\u0111enje programa osposobljavanja, dvorane su klimatizirane, a zgrada raspola\u017ee liftom \u0161to obrazovne programe \u010dini dostupnim osobama s posebnim tjelesnim potrebama i starijim osobama.\u00a0Lokacija zgrade je izuzetno povoljna, U\u010dili\u0161te se nalazi na novoure\u0111enom Trgu 1. svibnja, \u0161to impozantnu gra\u0111evinu jo\u0161 vi\u0161e izdvaja te daje zna\u010daj u\u010denju i pou\u010davanju.<\/p>\n

Vi\u0161e o Anti Babi\u0107 \u010dije ime ponosno nosi U\u010dili\u0161te Umag mo\u017eete pro\u010ditati na\u00a0Istrapediji<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pu\u010dko otvoreno u\u010dili\u0161te \u201eAnte Babi\u0107\u201c Umag\u00a0 kontinuirano prati potrebe lokalne sredine te svoju obrazovnu ponudu nastoji prilagoditi i uskladiti s tr\u017ei\u0161tem rada \u010dime je postalo jedan od temeljnih stupova dru\u0161tvenog razvoja Grada Umaga.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE SCHOOL<\/p>\n

\"Ante Babi\u0107\" Public Open University Umag was founded in 1956 under the name \"Ante Babi\u0107\" National University. Adult education, basic music education, library activities, music-stage, gallery-exhibition and cinema screening activities, as well as the organization of important events and performances in the area of the City of Umag took place within the framework of the College. The change in legal regulations and the strong development of all the aforementioned activities during the last two decades have brought about a whole series of structural and organizational changes, and since January 1, 2018, the Umag School has been exclusively engaged in adult education and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n

Today, the Umag University offers adult students extremely great opportunities: finishing elementary school, obtaining a qualification or requalification in high school programs, studying for a \"second career\" through numerous training programs for service, IT, tourism-hotel and agricultural jobs. It encourages personal development through the acquisition of language competences at verified and specialized foreign language courses and through public lectures and other forms of education, and strives to meet the educational needs of the local population.<\/p>\n

Since 2003, within the framework of the Department of Education at that time, the project of the College for the Third Age has been developed, which puts all generations of the city of Umag on an equal footing, ensuring the right to study, social inclusion and raising the quality of life for people of the third age. With the continuous financial support of the City of Umag and the County of Istria, all programs of the School for the Third Age are either completely free or include a symbolic participation of the participants.<\/p>\n

Since 2011, the University of Umag has been a beneficiary of funds from the European Social Fund and provides free education for citizens, enters into partnerships with other schools, the economic sector, employers and institutions from the local community and beyond. Thanks to participation in Erasmus + projects, it strengthens its own capacities and provides professional support to teachers - external collaborators who participate in the implementation of educational programs.<\/p>\n

The Umag School has been a member of the Association of Institutions for Adult Education of the Republic of Croatia, since the very foundation of this professional association, and is a member of the Association for the Development of Human Resources and Adult Education of HGK.<\/p>\n

The classrooms of the College are equipped with modern didactic equipment, workshops for carrying out training programs, the halls are air-conditioned, and the building has an elevator, which makes educational programs accessible to people with special physical needs and the elderly. The location of the building is extremely favorable, the University is located on the newly renovated 1st of May Square, which makes the imposing building stand out even more and gives importance to learning and teaching.<\/p>\n
